Gather Your Supplies
Before you jump into creating your geode resin art, it’s important to make sure that you have all of the supplies that you need. This includes things like a gemstones, crystals, posca pens, glitter, mica powder, epoxy resin, quartz points, wooden canvas, frog tape, hot glue gun, and hot glue. It also helps to have some measuring cups and stirring sticks on hand as well as gloves, silicone mat, and a resin respirator mask.

Stirring Sticks
Mixing sticks are essential when creating fluid art. You'll need these to mix your paints.

Tape Off the Bottom of Your Board

Mixing The Resin
Once you have all the supplies that you need, it’s time to mix the epoxy resin according to the instructions provided with the package. Be sure to mix thoroughly until all of the bubbles are gone so that your finished product will be nice and smooth. To achieve a glossy finish when your project is complete, be sure not to add too much hardener during this step since this can cause discoloration or cloudiness in the final product.
It is also important to warm up the resin and hardener before mixing them together so that they are easier to mix and to prevent getting a ton of bubbles in the resin mix.
Adding Color & Glitter
Now comes the fun part! Once your resin is mixed and ready, it’s time to add some glitter and/or mica powder to give your geodes some color and extra sparkle. Separate your resin into individual cups depending on how many color mixes you want to make for your geode. Add mica powder (in your colors of choice) and/or glitter into your resin cups. Make sure to mix thoroughly so that the color and/or glitter are evenly distributed throughout.
Pouring The Resin Onto Your Wooden Board
Now that you’ve mixed the resin and added your color and/or glitter, it’s time to pour it onto your wooden board. Slowly pour each cup of colored resin onto the board in whatever pattern you desire.
Adding Gemstones and Crystals
To make your resin geodes even more special, you can add gemstones or crystals. Choose the ones that you like best and put them on whatever areas you want on your wooden board while the resin is still wet. Once it has dried, your geodes will have colorful gems and sparkly crystals!
Curing Time
Set aside for 24 hours so that everything can set properly before handling them. Make sure you cover your geode with a box while the resin is curing so that no lint, hairs, or dirt fall on the resin.
Removing the Frog Tape
Once the resin has cured, remove the frog tape. If you find it hard to remove, you can use a heat gun to heat up the hardened resin on the frog tape while you pull it off.
Finishing Touches
You can now draw lines on the top of your geode surface by using some posca pens.
Adding glitter lines to your resin geodes will also add some unique texture and make them look even better! All you need to do is mix some resin with a lot of glitter, put it in a pipping bag, and pipe it on top of your geode in whatever pattern you desire.
You can also use a hot glue gun to add some extra decorations to your geode. For example, you can add some crystals or gems onto the sides of the board for added sparkle.
Once your geode is complete, you can add a final layer of resin to protect the lines and glitter you've drawn on your geode.
